I am not sure what your problem is, can you please elaborate?

have your gunsmith mill the slide so it will fit properly and stay put, otherwise you will have to stake it and most will not warranty it once you've touched it.

If you mean the front sight has a tenon that goes through the slide, it'll have to be staked in place. Since yours was staked and dressed flush with the inside of the slide, you'll need a new sight...and it'll have to be properly staked in place. Curious...Did the tenon shear off, or did it just come loose?

EDIT:
Never mind. I just saw that you lost the original and already have a new one. Same deal. It'll have to be staked with a tool made specifically for the job. If you're within driving distance of Lexington, NC you can run it by here and I'll do it. No charge.
