Took the Sistema to the range ---previous owner had changed all the easy to reach springs --- I tried the bone grips (which came on it) on my stainless High Standard pic here: http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=20375 --- so I put a set of old smooth wood on for the time being......

Grouped nicely -- this was the first target it was the third gun fired --- the sights are little, but no much worst than some of those on my single action Cowboy guns.

All in all I'd excellent manners, no problems. Great old gun.

In another post I has a question about the 4 digit serial on the barrel& slide --- they aren't visisble in the pics, as they are vertical on the top centerline. Policia Federal on the side....

I sure like these grips on the Sistema better than the bone ones. And, the bone grips look really good on your High Standard...you did well! Great pictures, by the way, and nice shoot'n. Congratulations!

thanks for the kind words --- I think the old wood gives a little more vintage look to the old girl. Like I told the guy at the gun shop - she might not be the prettiest girl at the dance, but grouping shots all is the way she rolls. Not bad for 58 years old (not counting the slide and barrel face lift).

After these targets I sent another 150 rounds or so down range --- shooting the .45 autos is a whole 'nuther animal from the 9MM's; .357 SA's; and .22's I usually carry to the range.
