Remington Rand Triggers. Did any of the Remington Rands come with a Milled trigger. I've come across a nice milled trigger and am considering putting it on my Frankenrand but I have a problem doing so if Rands didn't come with milled triggers. The parts on this 1911 may not have all come out at the same time but even for a non expert I'm pretty confident that all the parts are correct. I have a sneaking suspicion that no milled triggers were installed on Remington Rands. If not I'm going to have to find another 1911 to install on my trigger.

Yes, Remington Rand did use some milled triggers up to about the 928,000 serial range. However, there was no definite cut-off point and the transition was probably gradual. Some type I logo Rem Rands from about 928,000 on have been noted to have stamped triggers. Type I logo guns extend past the 928,000 range, so you can see one with a stamped trigger. But, unless your Rem Rand is an early type I before about 928,000, I would think the stamped trigger is most likely correct.
There are some slight machining differences in Colt's and Remington Rand's triggers, but the most noticeable difference is the finish, provided finish is original. Colt's used brushed blue and parkerizing on theirs. Remington Rand milled triggers, if original finish, will only be Du-Lite blued, which looks more black or gray. Good luck on your project. Sounds like you are well on the way.

Well the rand is up in the 101XXXX range so I guess the milled trigger is out. Too bad because it is a nice one. I guess I'm going to have to find myself an older rand. OH Well some days a diamond some days a stone.
Old FrankenRand is looking pretty good if I do say so myself. Its come a long way from the plated mismatched colt slide, rubber grip, hex head screw wearing beast it was presenting itself as when I found it. It was ugly enough to make a freight train take a dirt road. Now it's starting to look ugly like it's supposed to be. OLD UGLY. Plus it shoots like a champ. Take that mag out and cock the hammer and it rattles like Don Knots Knees. And that happy 27 lb trigger pull

Yeah, your pistol would be too late for me to expect anything but a stamped trigger in it by then.
But, hang onto your nice milled trigger for another project gun. You never know when you may need it. Any original pre-1946 USGI part is tough to find now. So, that's one for the ol' parts bin.
I too recommend hanging on to any genuine GI parts you may come across. If you have any doubts just see what they often go for on eBay. Recently I was interested in a GI slide stop I saw there, and gave up on the bidding after it went past $40. I think it finally sold for about $70.

I assume you have a stamped trigger. If not there is a nice one on Gunbroker.com
