That's right, it is not a typo in the title. I bought a new Colt Model O1992, which is a matte blue Government Model M1991A1 in 9MM from forum member emiddio.

I picked the pistol up from my dealer Friday, but did not have time to get to the range. I spent a good deal of time giving the pistol a thorough cleaning Friday night; the shipping grease had gotten pretty gooey in the eight years since the pistol was produced in August of 1998.
I was surprised by the quality of manufacturing evident in the pistol. Fit was tight but operation was smooth and the finish was very consistent. The only manufacturing flaw I saw was some inconsistency in a few of the slide serrations which looked like they may have been caused by chatter in the cutter head.
Armed with my new pistol, a couple of extra Metalform magazines, and a hundred rounds of WWB 9MM, I hit the range after lunch on Saturday. Wow! My first impression was "what happened to the recoil?" By the time I had gone through one magazine, I knew the sights were dead on and accuracy was very good. I shot the rest of my ammo pretty quickly without any type of problem. (Note to self: take 200-300 rounds of ammo for the next range trip.)
The bottom line? I'm impressed. I can now practice with cheap 9MM ammo but use the same type of pistol that I would use for more serious purposes.
