Well, here is the picture of my last Gunsite Pistol...for now. I needed this to complete my Colt Gunsite Collection. Fortunate for me and my wallet, they only made 3 variations that I know of. I will get a range report up in a bit. I only go to the range about once per month. I'm sure this one will shoot every bit as well as the stainless one.

I really like that Dave! Y'all gonna give the son something else? ;)
I think I like that better than the stainless models.
Congrats Dave, that's a beauty.

If you're giving it away, I'll fly there and stand in line, but pistols are supposed to be blue (it says that somewhere in my handbook...I know it does, or...it ought to, anyway)

No, this one is mine. The next one that I just sent the money for is his......I think. :scared: Problem is, I take delivery of it, it's used, so I'll have to look it over and see if it's OK for him to get it after I make sure it functions as expected. He's never had a 1911 before, so it's my task to shoot it and make sure it's working the way it should ;) Therein lies the rub, you know I'm not going to want to part with it once it's in my old gnarled fingers.
The blue ones are nice, but I'm partial to stainless pistols, the blue never comes off of stainless. But that said, I do like blue, the blue just requires immediate attention if you get rained on while outside. We get lots of overcast days with rain and snow here in Northern Illinois. Very humid here also.
Larry, I'm glad I got this before you took an interest in these Gunsite Pistols. They are kind of rare already, with you on the prowl, they'll be even harder to find. The situation will get even worse if they grow on Hunter any more and he gets into the market also.

Daveohno: I have three Colt Gunsite pistols and I WANT MORE, MORE, MORE. I MUST HAVE ANOTHER ONE!
Several years ago, the Gunsite pistols were made by Springfiled (you probably already knew this). I purchased one and I was always sorry I did not get two of them. When I saw your SS Gunsite, I went crazy and picked up my first one, then got another one, and then got a two-tone one. I now have five Gunsite pistols (3-Colt and 2-SA). I AM NOT SATISFIED. I MUST HAVE ANOTHER ONE, AND SOON!
Someone on this forum, please HELP ME! My wallet is going crazy and the wife is threatening to leave. Boy, am I gonna miss her.
Hunter: Better get one soon before I have them ALL TO MYSELF! :nono: :nono:

Hi
There's a normal blued pistol and then there's a Colt blued pistol. They do a very good job. I happen to like stainless as well, but Colt blue = very nice.
My next Colt will be blued ...

The problem is that anything with the Rampant Colt on it is very nice. I have blue ones, nickel, stainless and bright stainless. The only thing I don't have as far as color is a two tone. I'm still playing color schemes here, I haven't gotten around to calibers other than 38 super and the 45. I'll surely be broke if I get the bug for the other calibers.

Even with the cockeyed serrations? :D
John

Well, that is what is catching OD*'s eye. The front serrations. The only things that ruins the aesthetics of this fine pistol. Me wants one. Wrong! Me wants two, on in Government and one in Commander length.

Hi
Maybe things will change.
How's the new law in Greece going? Any chance of it passing soon?

Not as far as I know. Everything seems to have come to a stand-still. Some times I wonder why our Shooting Federation is not more active.
Thanks for your interest, I appreciate it.

Ha, you remembered that eh, Dave? :p
I am even starting to like the forward cockeyed serrations. :scared:
We have a couple pistols in the shop with FLGRs and front serrations, I always check the guns before handing them over to a customer to look at, those front serrations really are a benefit to pistols with FLGR.

I remember much of what you instuct me of, Master yODa! :D
I especially like the JEDI mind tricks you use on others, My Master! Kind of like Darth OD Vader when you are with the dark side.
Trade any series 70's lately? :D

I have been seeing my shrink and he says I am making progress but we have much work to do. He did tell me to tell you that it is unfortunate to take advantage of the simple minded (me) for personal entertainment (you).

I forgive you OD (my first step back to happiness) :D
Just messin with you that was a good one you pulled on me, when I get had I admit it. You gonna be around this weekend?

I didn't know Hunter moved to New York City? WIth all this talk of shrinks, I guess he moved. Now you see why people see those shrinks for years and years. Their work is cut out for them.
Hunter has simple needs, if he has a telephone, many Colt's, a John Wayne movie and some Bush beer, he's as happy as a pig in (i forget the rest of that phrase, all of a sudden). Oh, I remember, as a pig in ...mud?
Paul, I can't buy any more pistols this year. I've been bad...very bad. I just ordered another 38 super and that makes about 5 too many new pistols this year. If I am correct I think I bought 7 new pistols (6 1911's and 1 Sig) and 3 Pythons this year. That's enough for now. I'm broke. Maybe later on though.

What do you think, maybe in 10 or 11 days I'll start to go crazy waiting for the new 38 super? You know if I get it involed in something it turns into "oh, no" not again.

'Bush beer'
He has a brewery too? Oh, you mean BUSCH.
daveohno
8th October 2006, 08:36
No, I guess it's Busch, like in anhueser busch. Don't get me if I mispelt the names! I don't drink that often, so, I am a little rusty on those things.
