Tried a search didn't find anything

But how come the Colt xse's arent marked as such ?

The left side of slide is

Commander COLT Automatic
Model Caliber 45

Right Side

Combat Commander model

I find it odd no xse marking s

Now my Older commander is marked

Colt MK IV
Series 80

other side

Colts combat commander Model

So why did they leave of Colts on the right side of xse slide..

Yes im bored

BobThe serial number on my .38 Super XSE Ltw Commander starts with "CU" and ends in "E." Is that numbering scheme unique to XSE models?

My late model XSE (bought brand new about 6 weeks ago) serial number starts with FL and ends with E and the right side of my slide is rolled "Lightweight Commander Model" because it's the 4860XSE LW with the alloy frame and stainless slide.

My guess is that the "E" at the end of the serial numbers might stand for "Enhanced" but you never know what Colt has in mind if anything.
