I took my new Commander out today. The Commander preformed beautifully. I was running out of daylight, and only ran through fifty rounds. Fifteen yrds free-hand, and no I didnt count my shots on each target. I just wanted to see some holes in the paper on the first time out. I'll work on zeroing her in next time. I really like the Gun!!!!

Hi
Looks like a fun time.
I'd give it another trip to the range and then I'd think about drifting the rear sight a bit.

Hi
I've spent a lot of time chasing impact points around targets ....
I would get at least a hundred rounds through it before I started playing with the sights. Some people would tell you to wait for two or three hundred.
You want to move it once and then forget it ...

This being your first range trip with your new Colt and the sights not adjusted for your eyes that is still pretty good shooting. I feel sure once you get feel of your new Colt and the sights dialed in I am sure it will only get better from here.

marlin44, nice shooting. Nothing like getting time to punch some holes in paper. Every 1911 I have bought has shot low left which I have narrowed down to the way I grip the pistol and the way the pistol torques on recoil. I have had to adjust each and every one.

Harleydog, I know what you mean, I'll tend to pull to the left with my 1991a1 full size.
John, hope you had a chance to see the Commander pictures. I have a new found love..... COMMANDERS!!!! They are as sweet as they look! :)

Marlin

They do have a tendency to grow on you, don't they Marlin? My Government models have been feeling "plumb rejected" lately. :D :D :D

NO Doubt!! Im thinking i might need to find a blued series 70 Commander to go along with the Stainless one I bought. I really like how the gun points and handles. :)

Hi
The Colt bluing process is *very* good. They have learned a bit about how to do it over the years. The result is a way cool pistol.
I'd say go for one.
