Hi, all! Several years ago, heck it was 25 or 30, I installed a full length rib/sight fixture on top of my Mk IV series 70 Gov't model* slide. It was OK for bullseye work, adjustable rear sight and all, :) but now I'd like to go back to the original fixed sights. Trouble is now I can't find 'em. I know darn well that I put them where I could always find them. Know what I mean?
Does anybody know where I can get replacements w/o paying today's MSRP? At my age I probably don't need sights anyway, but the gun would look better if it had them. Any suggestions? I'd appreciate any help you'd care to suggest. Thanks,
Jinglebob
*Cost me $170 from Hodgdens. Try that today!

Hope you can find them at a low price, I know about putting thigs in safe places. It;s tough when we get older and you are the first one that I have seen that has me beat in the age department,

Thanks, Bearandoldman, :)
We'll wait a few days. Maybe somebody has some old sights just laying around that they don't have any use for any more. In that case I'd be more than happy to arrange for their disposal.
My Brownell's catalog lets me know that they (the sights) are available for the proper amount of wherewithal. My Scotch ancestory is holding me back from ordering straight away. So is my pension!
Take care of yourself and bear.

I think I have a Series 80 rear sight, if you want it, I could mail it to you, but I am sure someone will jump in, closer to you than I am.

I just picked up a Series 70 Commander and will be taking the sights off, you can have them...........will try to be as delicate as I can taking off the front sight. PM me with your address, and I'll send them out when they're ready. probably in a week or so.

Thank you for your offer, John, but I think Wichaka is a few Time Zones closer.
And thank you Wichaka. We'll get it back the way it was, yet! Best Regards to you both,

Hi, All!
Thanks to wichaka my old Series 70, Gov't Model is "the way it was"! His Commander sights fit slicker than a whistle. Haven't shot it yet with the new sights, but it looks a whole heck of a lot better than it did with the target sight rib on it! (It is a Bo-Mar sight rib - adjustable rear sight and barrel tightener). If anybody wants it (to shoot with) let me know. Otherwise, as wachaka suggested, I'll use it as a paper weight.
Thanks again, John and Steve, for your responses!
This just about wraps it up.
