This is really for my brother-in-law. We both have brand new Colt Combat Commanders that have the low rise Novack 3 dot sites. On his gun, the rear site moves quite a bit after normal use, even though the set screw is torqued tight and to put the site back in the middle, I have to beat on it with a hammer pretty hard to move it with the set screw completely out!
Mine has not moved, yet.
I don't understand how recoil can cause it to move with the set screw in tight, and the thing won't budge unless I hit it pretty hard with a hammer when the set screw is completely out?
I have heard that the trick to fix it is to 'dimple' the slide where the set screw hits? And Locktite the set screw of course.
