Well today in my work travels I had a opportunity to stop in at a pretty decent gun store in Garland,Tx. First thing I did was strike up a conversation with the owner. And guess what he loves Colts and proceed to show them to me. In his display cases were the following a Nib Colt SS .38 super Government model, A Blue NRM, SS XSE commander, SS Gold cup, a used but nice Series 70 Goldcup,SS Officers ACP, 1943 G.I 1911a1, couple of MKIV Government models. And the best of all a polished nickel 4 inch E suffix Python looked new. And last but not least a NIB 6 Inch blue Python complete with everything. Prices were fair and store has a indoor range. Any how the stores name was Target master and there website is www.targetmasters.com .I for one find Colt's everywhere I travel so there doesn't seem to be a shortage to me.....;)

Nice report Larry! In the last couple of years they really have been hard to find in these parts, but at the last gunshow there was a decent selection. They've also appeared at one of the local shops that "hated" Colts the last time I was in. "Shifting alliances" methinks ... imagine that. ;)
Regards.
PS: Now I need to happen onto a Match Target M4 next Spring about tax refund time.

That's Texas Larry.
We got plenty of Colts. This state was tamed with a Colt SAA and a Winchester rifle.
I find them everywhere, mostly small shops.
Target Masters is a great place.

Hey, Larry...Targetmaster is one of the places I frequent (it's only about 15 miles or so from the house). Next time you're in the area, let me know and I'll buy ya a cup of coffee! That goes for anyone else thay comes to the DFW area as well. Yes, they do like Colts and they have a decent selection for such a small shop. We do have a lot of Colts in Texas. There were a zillion of them at the gun show last weekend, and most were reasonably priced.

There is no shortage of Colt's, its just that Hunter has bought them all. So you see, there is no shortage, they've just been hoarded by Hunter.
Larry, how much drool did you get on the guy's countertop?

Well Brian has a point but out of pure guilt I have held off almost two months on buying a Colt (really it is because the last three I bought in a row like to broke me). Alas I can only hold out so long, I have a birthday coming up and a gunshow in November so I hope to see at least one more Colt in the safe before the year is out.

Not to much! I wasn't really in the market to buy anything I just love going to new stores looking for Colt's it is kinda like searching for treasure. Plus I just put a Nib 6 inch Blue Python on layaway.....:D

You know Hunter, Texas isn't that far. You can swing by Indiana on the way and we can split the gas. :p

There are 3 stores in the Charlotte area that carry Colts routinely. In my area, 20 miles outside of Charlotte, my local shop will happily overnight me new Colts from Ellett Bros. or RSR.

Hi
Support those neat little gun shops !!!
They are dying left and right up here. The big box stores have killed them off. There's no place to go and shop at lunch time any more. :(

+1 on the little gun shops. However, it's not PC to sell handguns in my town, so the big guys only sell rifles and shotguns, and the only little guy is a Kimber Master dealer. I may have to take on a Colt finding expedition soon.

I travel alot in my work and I enjoy going to stores and looking for Colt's. I must confess I haven't had any problem finding any. My problem is I don't have enough cash! :(

You don't have money because you have a house full of Colt's! Not necessarily a bad thing ;)

Did you feed those big, mean dogs yet? Or, better yet, send them to a dog boarding house for a few days. I still need to sneak into your house and do some "shopping"! :D :D
