Does anyone know where M1911 blueprints (drawings) with dimensions that are truly readable can be found? I've been trying to use those available at www.sightm1911.com for a year or two, but some of the dimensions are just not legible - especially on the blueprint for the receiver.

From the M1911.org home page
Several people have written and asked me if I know where they can find blueprints of the old bigmouth. Well, the closest thing I've found is located at http://www.model1911a1.com/. From the drop-down menu on the top of that site, select the drawing you want to see. Javascript should be enabled for this feature to work.
Some more blueprints can be found at http://www.biggerhammer.net/manuals/. Scroll towards the bottom, after the "Manuals" section.
I seem to remember someone else offering nice schematics for sale, but I can't remember which M1911 website it was. Perhaps one of the other folks will remember.

Ours Garrettwc, ours but we do not offer them.
Niemi, go to this site :
http://www.nicolausassociates.com/
For 30$ you get a book full of those blueprints you want, with measures etc. Don't forget to tell them who send you there.

Thanks, John. I was in a rush when I posted that and wasn't able to find the link.
