I have noticed a recent plethora of postings regarding Colt National Matches here and on other 1911 forums recently. I just picked up mine and she is a real beauty. Definitely never fired, no marks at all, pristine. I will post a picture as soon as I can. Finished in Ultimate SS - bright polished completely.
One thing I noticed is that it came with a plastic MSH. :butthead: On a pistol that is completely polished, this sticks out like a sore thumb. Guy owned it from the beginning said that it came that way from the factory. Figures, Colt either let it out the door like that because they ran out of polished parts or at the time they no longer used metal MSH at all. So I could not leave her like that and found and ordered a SS polish MSH to fix her up.
It is a shame, but I haven't the heart to fire her. She is too beautiful. Yet another safe queen.
