Hi

The 1991 Colts are fine pistols. They shoot well and are very reliable. That said if you can get an '80 for $500 that's just a little over half the price of a new 1991 in most gun shops.

This all gets into the new / used pistol thing. If you know the guy and he has not messed with the pistol then it's a great deal. If the used pistol has been "improved" then you may want to have a gunsmith take a look at it.

Even not knowing the guy I'd jump on the used pistol at $500 ....

I am having a hard time deciphering your post. May I suggest the use of sentences, capitals, and periods? I would like to answer your post, but am having a difficult time understanding want you want to ask......thanks

The 1991A1 and Series 80 are nearly the same (except for finish and rollmarks of course) and both are excellent pistols. At $500 you would do great with either pistol. I have shot my 1991A1 right much and she is an accurate pistol and I have yet to have trouble. The 1991A1 will have a plastic MSH and trigger (as will some Series 80) that some folks don't love but I wouldn't think that would cause trouble (hasn't on any of my Colts so equipped).

Yes the basic M1991a1 Goverment model is an excellent pistol. And for $500 bucks a great buy. Lately the prices on these models have started to rise a little. :)

I have to agree great choice. Plus I feel like any Colt that you can get for under $600 bucks is a bargain in today's world..... ;)

Have to agree with Hunter and Larry.
For all intents and purposes they are the same gun and any Colt for $600 or under, is a dang good deal.
