I have an XSE Lt WT Commander that has an FLGR, apparently not a common thing, Anyone else have one like mine? If you have a pic of the front of your XSE please post it. I think mine looks strange with a hollow recoil plug. I think I would like to change it out for a standard set up. I wanted to see what you all have. Thanks, here's mine:

I wonder why they would send some with the flgr and some without?

My new XSE Combat Commander has the FLGR, same as yours. I added the Wilson drop in BT, S&A MSH/MG and Navidrex grips.

That is the standard (i.e. original) setup for Colt's XSE models. Anything different and the owner made changes.

With respect, whitey019, I'm going to have to disagree with you. Here's a picture of the muzzle of my LW XSE Commander.

The only thing that has been changed on this pistol are the grips.

My XSE LW Commander in .45 also had a FLGR in it when I bought it. Today I noted there was another at a gun store with FLGR and a .38 super with a regular plug. Since they are so easy to change I never was worried about what was there. Perhaps Colt ran out of one and used the other.

Nicely covered to keep it warm, and only the nose out, so it can breath at night. The first Commander I see, with ... its own blanket!
You are taking good care of your babies Steve !

:lm: I have got to get some wooden frames to support my pistols for pictures! I mean, I just have to! :o

Buh, no, the pistols on those wooden stands look unnatural to me. No 1911 can stand up on its frame, unless it is an airsoft high capacity one, where 800gr of weight are in the magazine well and the other 100gr are on the slide. No, the blanket idea is nice!

Same with my .38 Super--standard guide rod. But I am almost certain that I've seen XSEs in .45 at gun shows that had the standard guide rod as well. And I know I've seen the .45 XSE with the full length rod. Is it possible that they make them both ways or changed from one to the other at some point it production? Sounds like a question for Colt!
Update: Went to the gun show today and checked out a bunch of XSEs. All of the .45 XSE that I saw had the full length guide rod and all of the .38 Super XSE had the regular. Guess I was mistaken about seeing the .45 version without the full length guide rod!

My LW XSE Commander has a FLGR as well. Was this a mid-stream change to ad bells and whistles? AKGUY, how close to "drop in" was the Wilson drop in BT?

My pre-XSE Enhanced Commander has a FLGR and a plug that looks just like yours.
