STI/Armscor Spartans

Saw this on THR thought I would share.

While organizing my next STI group buy, I was informed that STI would be doing a budget line of guns using an Armscor frame/slide and STI components. I called them, and it is true.

I'll have a price list in the next couple of weeks, and they will probably be available in November or so. The suggested retail is going to be in the mid $600 range.

I'm pumped. I've ordered in some recent Armscor guns for customers, and they've looked pretty good. STI components are excellent, so this sounds like it will be a real quality 1911 for a good price.

I hope that they upgrade the sights too.
Both RIAs I got that is/was first thing I wanted to do was replace the sights.

I haven't seen a picture yet, but I know that David Skinner told me that he will have two or three guns for us to review before the end of the year. So stick around folks.

One more thing. Those of you who are members in the High Road, why don't you post a thread there, alerting their users to our reviews?I am sure they would be interested to read about the new guns we try out.

PLEASE make me a .40 s&w version single stacked with adj. sights!!!!! If it is half the pistol my trojan 9mm is it will be the steal of the century! that one would have to bring out the plastic if the money wasnt there!!

don't worry about the sights. they will be adjustable LPA or LPA style sight. Thats all I'm going to tell you Dave might get mad at me. I hope he asks me to make a 40S&W for him too. I'm really excited to this project with Dave. I have known him for a long time and become friends over the years. I consider this to be the greatest honor making a gun for the best 1911 manufacturer today. I'm making sure it lives up to the STI standards. Beside its finally allowed me to own a STI which I've wanted for years. I only own 1911 that I make so its a good thing for you guys and me as well.

Folks, if you want to see one of these pistols before they hit the streets, I suggest you write to David Skinner and ask him to send us one, as soon as Armscor sends him the first batch. David has promised me a couple of them back in the summer, but he went back and says he can't afford to send us any, they are in high demand. So write to him and put some pressure on him on this.

WOW, I am sure its going to be a GREAT gun, please Mr.President let it be available in the Philippines, it might as well be my first 1911.

Tell dave to sell me some back for the stores in the philippines. From what I know he's already back ordered on what I'm delivering. You may not see them in the philippines untill I catch up. Sorry. I'll ask him when he'll release some for philippines. We should have stock of other STI products in time for the AFAD show in Nov. Drop by the Armscor Booth Dave and I might be there.

the spartan will be release on mid november, base on info from STI, the spartan will be a single stack pistol not a hi-capacity pistol, the cost will be affordable, the price is not yet release until it is ready for selling.

Will the STI Spartan be available through STI delaers as well as RIA/Armscor delaers? I know a lot of people buy STI's from Dawson and Brazos, I know that Larry Correia from FBMG INC who posts on the High Road does group buys every so often for STI and he emailed me yesterday stating he has already ordered some Spartans for stock ( I do not know when he will get them). Also If the Spartan comes with a single sided safety can an ambi-safety be added on using STI parts?

It's going to be a tough row at $600, if Taurus can keep their prices close to $400, don't you think?
