Hi,
I just got back from testing out my SA GI 45 (3"bbl) model PW9801L at the range, overall I was impressed with it's performance, I shot off 6 mags 2 of them rappid fire, had no problems with jams and it actually handled alot smoother then I was expecting (kick not bad at all) so even rappid firing I was able to keep a pretty nice grouping at both 15 and 25 feet, I didnt try for further because its an outdoor range and it was very overcast with out much light (gloomy day). Anyhow, the only 2 complaints I have with it is that the spent cartridges flew back at my chest and it also shot a couple inches low so I had to compensate with the sites.
Any sugestions for a replacment sight that will give me a little elevation? Im not quite sure if the same sites you can get for the 4" & 5" models will work on this one.
Thanks...

Glad to hear you like your little gun, they are more accurate than people think. What kind of hold and sight picture do you use? Don't really bullseye shoot mine just IDPA targets on computer controlled programs at mey range. Main thing is to keep them in the 0 circle which is 8 inch diameter. Not really aiming just point and shoot rapeid fire try to get 2 shots per target exposurre of 2 to 2 seconds.http://www.geocities.com/oldman1727/SALoadedMicro.jpg Hi,

Cases coming straight back ain't good, it can be painful! Odds are the ejector and possibly the extractor are not quite right. Springfield's GI Milspec's seem to be developing a reputation for ejectors that are not right and usually don't have enough metal to be filed and made right, so replacement may be needed.

I actually took it in today and exchanged it for the 4" model (same style), I like the GI 45s so stuck with it but feel more comfortable with the 4" barrel.
Thanks again...

I use both a paddle holster and IWB, I use the paddle one when I can because its more comfortable. Im replacing the sights on my pistol because right now it has military low profile ones that are hard to use, eventually Id love to put a rod laser in it but thats for when me and my wallet can both agree lol.
