I just wanted to say the customer service at nighthawk has been top notchl!! I was having hammer follow on my full size talon so I called in. Nighthawk paid for both ways without question, and I got the pistol back in a week.
Another example, one of my coco bolo grip panels on my talon III cracked after 200 rounds and I called in to ask if this was a common problem. Craig without hestation said "send them in and we'll get a new set out to you". I was floored. What great service!! I see a few more nighthawks in my future. Craig, robin, and the rest on company, thanks!

Let me start by saying that I have a full size Predator and without a doubt I love it. I have had some small problems with it, and yes Nighthawk was great about sending the UPS pickup tag with lighting speed to get it sent back to deal the anbi-safety that separated internally. It was only out of my possession for about ten days.

My problem is that I loved my Predator so much that I ordered a Talon IV with the Black Diamond finish. I was quoted an eight-week delivery time. At week sixteen it had still not been sent out to have the finish applied. Today marks week-25 and still waiting. In my humble opinion when double the delivery time had passed I would have expected Nighthawk to give regular (at least every ten days) updates as to the status of production.

It is easy to pass on the blame to an outside source such as who ever is applying the finish for them but the reality is it never left the shop until better than 16 weeks after the order was placed.

So I again have to wonder, do you only consider good customer service to be how a problem is addressed after the gun breaks, or where does communications come into play in providing good customer service.

I am hopeful that when my Talon IV finally arrives I will love it as much as I do my Predator however, my frustration level with Nighthawk not taking the effort to communicate about the status especially on a project that is I hope as far out of the ordinary as this one is exasperating.

Hey, at least you have the Predator to shoot. :D

It's too bad you are basically at 6 months and counting for your Talon IV. Regular communication isn't always a good thing, especially when it comes to hurry up and wait.

I'll give you the Reader's Digest version on my home addition. I was quoted a 10 week time frame for a 400 sq foot room addition to my home that cost a lot more than a custom firearm. From start to finish it took 178 days. Yes, I was hot!!! to say the least. Two weeks after we moved the furniture in, the headaches were a distant memory....

What's my point? We called the builder once a week and it only resulted in many many broken promises and missed deadlines. It only made it worse.

Regular emails saying 'it isn't done yet' just wouldn't do much for me.

Problems like yours are well documented on this board, and after reading them I still ordered the Black Diamond finish.

I hope mine doesn't take 6 months, but if it does, I will still be getting one of the best guns for sale in the free world.

Peace.

Hammer follow is when the hammer follows the slide when the gun is closing. It should stay fully to the rear and never follow the slide down.

These are good points, but it does sting when you unload a lot of money and emotion on the promise of a nice gun. I think John gets the prize for bearing up to the extended wait with patience, perspective, and humor.

That said, maybe you trained the guys at NHC. My T2 bob in Black Diamond just came in, a little less than 7 weeks after placing my order...thanks.
