Hi,
I'm new here (first post) and I have some questions about my R-R Serial No. 961070.

From reading all of the posts in this section and going to the sites recommended here I am pretty sure my gun is R-R 1943.
The barrel is marked with HS for High Standard (correct).
The grips are not Keyes (the gun came with Keyes but right one has no reinforce rings around the grip screws and the left has the rings, so I changed out to incorrect grips that match). I have ordered a correct set on Simpson LTD as I read about here.

I think that the trigger and hammer are incorrect and would like conformation of what to replace them with.

The magazine shown is USGI and incorrect but I have purchased a Risdon clip.
If there is anything else that appears to be wrong I would appriciate your comments.

I put a link to photos below. I hope it works. I know how to post pictures with photobucket but for some reason I can't get on my photo page there.

Thanks
Joe

Your Remington Rand has a 1911 trigger, slide stop, and hammer. Your pistol is finished in Du-Lite blue, so replacement parts need to be Du-Lite finished also.
Not sure, but the hammer may be a Springfield.

I maybe incorrect, as I have been before, the thumb safety is of 1911 vintage, and the magazine should be a "G" General Shaver, but is still an nice looking pistol.
These are minor items that can be corrected, if the colors and finish match.

Very nice looking pistol. From what I see on Proof House.com, you're correct in that your gun is 1943 production. Here are a couple of pictures of similar guns, including the General Shaver magazine:

Hi All!

Thanks for the timely answers.

I am working on purchasing the items needed to bring this old girl back where she should be. (Thanks to one of your members!)

I bought this gun about 10 years ago for $350.00 and have done nothing to it (except shoot it a few rounds every now and then), so I guess its a good idea to spend the money to make it correct.

Thanks Again, this is a great forum.

Thanks (I think) it must be a really nice typewriter.

I bought it the old way saw in gun ads newspaper and phoned the dealer. I have never regretted the purchase. It is my favorite gun.

Nice pistol! An S, L, R, or G marked magzine would be correct for the R-R.
