I have been wanting one of these for so long, and when a friend of mine decided to sell this one, I had to jump on it.

Very nice pistol! It looks like your friend took very good care of it. Looks brand new. What caliber is it and how does it shoot. I have a STI GrandMaster in .38Super which is superbly accurate... when it works. The gun won't function on factory ammo and requires a power factor of at least 175 to cycle correctly. The last batch of ammo that I made seemed to work pretty good. Only a couple FTF's.
Is your STI hardchrome or stainless? It looks similar to mine so I am guessing it is hardchrome. Either way it is a beautifully finished gun. Let us know how it shoots when you get the chance. STI's are usually very accurate and well built guns.

It has a .40 Nowlin barrel, and it is hard chromed by Tripp Reseach. It was his backup gun and saw very little use, it has less than 1k rounds through it. I have yet to fire it, I was at the IDPA North Texas Regional all weekend and have had no time. Plus I need to buy a few mags this week.
Hopefully it will function on any ammo as it does not have a compensator, I would prefer to be able to shoot about 130PF in IDPA.

Get some tuned mags from either Dawson or Grams. Save some headaches. Only downside is the Nowlin barrel, IMHO, I have split three of his barrels. Hope you have better luck. I don`t have the front serrations on the slide on mine. Nice gun, good luck.

I recently bought a STI Edge from Dawson Precision for USPSA Limited Competition. I built 3 magazines from "parts" (STI 140mm tubes, ISMI springs from Brownells, Dawson follower/basepad from Dawson) and all three mags have run flawlessly. The Dawson followers did require a little "fitting" (which makes sense because they're marked 40/45) but I'm getting 19 + 1 out of all of them. I could probably cut a coil off the springs (they're about 11.5 turns) and gain an extra round but I'm happy with what I've got now.
Very nice looking blaster! I'm probably going to have Virgil do mine at the end of this shooting season.

I got a set of 4 140mm super-tuned mags from Brazos Customs. They are polished STI tubes with Grams followers/springs and basepads. They are great!
Sweet looking gun btw!
