Any way of determining DOB of a Colt Series 70 pistol, or any newer Colt, for that matter?

My understanding (and I think that Hunter has mentioned this in other threads) is that you can call Colt Customer Service, give one of the girls the model number and serial number, and she can tell you when your pistol was manufactured.

1 800 962 Colt, Kathy or Cindy will answer the phone. Model and serial number (as Rio Vista Slim said) will get you the manufacture date. Both really nice ladies that are good at their job.

Well, I just spoke with Cindy....what a pleasure it was to speak with her...talk about enthusiastic about the Colt line, and customer service...well, my Series 70 left the factory on May of 2006...that's the BOD...thanks guys for your help; also, the custom shop will be making me a set of smooth ebony grips with the Colt medallion...waiting for a call from Joe on the price.

Pictures will, of course, be forthcoming, right? Sure do want to see those new grips! By the way, Carol and Kathy have both been really helpful to me...Colt has some good customer service.
