The pictures are of my 45 Colt Lightweight Commander Build from parts. The frame is a Colt SS from a Combat Commander. The slide is from a person whom I bought it off of GunBroker, it says Cogan Custom on the right front of the slide. The bushing to barrel and slide fit is tight. I did have to tighten the slide to the frame but it is not gawdawful too tight. The grips and hammer spring housing are Pachmayrs. I used all Wolff springs including a 16lb recoil spring. It does have an EGW hammer pin retainer in it. Novak rear and front sights. I have the trigger pull down to 3lbs. for a carry gun. It is not done yet because I am waiting for a SS Brown Beavertail. The rear I cut for a Brown beavertail and am now waiting to finish and fit it. Here are the pics. Oh, the Kimber slide is for another gun I am building as you can see by the comp and the scope mount next to it.

Thank you and hopefully this coming weekend I will be breaking it in by shooting around 100 rounds through it and then checking all the parts in fit and wear patterns.

I like that Commander very much - you're making me want another gun! Just one thing - you said the slide has Cogan Custom on it, but the picture clearly shows a Colt Mk IV Series 80 slide. I guess you just got carried away and forgot to add that. I was wondering what a Cogan slide was. So, you really have pretty much a Colt with customized slide - very nice indeed. I think I would have the slide reblued, because the gun really has an interesting look and could look fabulous.
