So I found this (http://i6.tinypic.com/1zlc2dl.jpg) little gem. Here (http://i6.tinypic.com/1zlc42c.jpg) it is broken down, as you can see it has a floating (http://i6.tinypic.com/1zlc4xs.jpg) chamber and this helps reproduce (http://i6.tinypic.com/1zlc5js.jpg) the recoil of a .45 in a .22!
It has to be the slickest slide I have ever felt, and as it is a conversion, the lower can be swapped out to a .45 with no problems. Just the slide and barrel are part of the conversion. The ser# says it is a 1953 production. The mag seems to hold 14 rounds.
Does anyone have any further info on this pistol? Know where to get mags?
Thanks and range report to follow.
