Does anyone have experience with the top-of-line Kimber target gun? Is it the Gold Match II for bullseye?
I think it's about 1500 bucks.
Thanks all,
Ralph
Going to the SAFS at Perry for the first time tomorrow!!!

Hi Ralph,
I have a gold match. it is a great gun but i am not sure it will hold a tight group at 50 yards.........it could be me. I know of people who have had great luck with a les baer with the 1.5 guarrantee and rock river .

Thanks;
I talked to a few folks at the local club and around the 'net and have decided to have a custom gun built. First a hardball gun, then a wadgun.
Now I gotta come up with the bucks!

Not a bad idea, make sure it is done by a "BE pistolsmith". Ask around or on the BE list, one known one is Ed Masaki out of Hawaii, but there are others. It will be a while before you get the gun however.

Here's a great hardball pistol. Rock River Arms National Match Hardball with a 2 inch at 50 yard upgrade.

I am going to spend a couple hundred more and have someone smith one from scratch for me. I was going to order it this week, but I am going to wait a month and build up spme more cash reserve first.

Just for my own edification, what is an 'BE pistolsmith'?

That site stated: "Bob Marvel also designs and produces many innovative products. Bob produced a .22 conversion that he is
no longer associated with."
Anyone know the story there? I know the Marvel conversions to be the most accurate of any 1911 .22 conversion I have ever shot. Who is running Marvel Precision is not Bob Marvel?

Bob sold his conversion and associated business and is in litigation over royalty disputes. I don't know who is running it. He has a better design but I don't believe he will market it any time soon.

Shame... especially since his named is still attached.
But if he ever does sell a better one, I'll be first in line! I can think of a couple small improvements but I don't see how he would make one any more accurate.
