I need a long trigger on my Colt, so I've been looking around. The only problem I have is I don't really know how long a long trigger is. I found this on Brownells Trigger (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=5520&title=1911+AUTO+LIGHTWEIGHT+TRIGGER) Specs are listed as follows: SPECS: "Stainless steel bow, aluminum shoe, Silver, matte or Black, matte finish. 2.4" (6.1cm) long, .240" (6mm) wide face. Weighs 95 grains." I want a black trigger, and this appears to be the only one out there. Is this a long trigger? and if so how hard will it be to install this one? Also is there a different trigger I should be looking at than this one, for a long trigger, in black, for a defensive gun?

The only other trigger than the McCormick black trigger, is Infinity. Brownells sells that one too, as is very much adjustable from the different length inserts.

King's Gun Works also makes a black trigger, though Brownells no longer lists it.
The fitting is mainly in the height, with most of the material removal generally being taken off the bottom.
Moose,
Do you want metal, or could it be made of nylon?
Colt is still using them both, you might try calling them direct. 1-800-962-2658.

I just want a long trigger in black, that is one piece, and good for a defensive gun. I have never had to get any parts for my other 1911, so I'm totally new to this modification thing.
