It seems the venerable firearms manufacturer, High Standard, is back in operation and is selling 1911s and AR-15s. We have been told that their full-size 1911s are currently being built under subcontract by Armscor, but their Commander-size guns are being built in their own factory in Texas. This presents a problem.

A couple of posts relating to High Standard have been put into the Charles Daly/ RIA/Armscor/SAM forum, on the basis that they come from the same factory. But -- they are backed by a different company. Further, it's going to be even more confusing if we put their full-size guns there and their Commanders elsewhere.

We are evaluating the possibility of creating a forum for High Standard. (Yes, we are also evaluating a forum for Taurus, as well, but it ain't gonna happen unless we begin to see a lot of discussion baout the Taurus 1911s aside from "When are they going to ship?"). Until we decide what to do about High Standard, please post ALL posts regarding High Standard in the "Other 1911s" forum. Do NOT post messages regarding High Standard in the Charles Daly/ RIA/Armscor/SAM forum.

Thank you.

Well, I have created a forum for the High Standard pistols, that's where you should keep the discussion on either their full-size model or their US-made pistols.

As for the Taurus ones, I still do not see much discussion going on about them, it looks as if they are still in very limited supply, so please use the "Other 1911s" forum for them.
