I think this is the best section to post this. I just have to get it off my chest.
Why oh why do people take photos of 1911s from 7 feet away. I don't need to see your entire living room, table, bed etc. In fact, in many cases, I don't need to see the entire 1911. Let's have some detail photos. Close in. And if it's blurry (I see this allot on the auctions), delete it! Don't use it as your illustration of product. My eyesight is bad enough...
Ok, next gripe...

The living room shots are not needed but the blurry ones sometimes cant be helped. Some people put their money into the firearm and not 300.00 to 5000.00 digital cameras so I think we need to cut some slack therehttp://forum.m1911.org/images/icons/icon16.gif
Well, you do not need a 5,000$ camera to take some decent pictures. I used to have a 3 MPix. Sony, which today costs about 200$ and it takes amazing pictures. Keep in mind that even a 3 MP camera is too much for Internet-sized pictures (800x600).

If all I'm going to see is a fuzzy 1911 shaped object, save even more money (on electricity) and turn off the computer. It's really a matter of trial and error with any camera. $ is no excuse today. 8 years ago maybe, but there's no $100 plus camera on the market that can't take good shots. I have a $350 (6 year old) 2.2 Mpix Kodak that get's (clearly) the threads on an S&W grip screw. You can't buy a camera as low res as the one I own.
It just takes time and effort. It's one thing in a forum where you are just displaying your wares, but in an auction where you are trying to sell an item, it's laughable.
Please buy this gun... It's the fuzzy L shaped thingy by the ashtray on the coffee table next to the seldom used Nordik Track. :p

Or you can do like I do and borrow someone's camera for the picture. I would not use your girlfriend's camera then she will want to know what you paid for your new Series 80 Colt GCNM before you get the picture downloaded. An argument begans about why it is none of your concern why I spent $1242 on a Gold Cup which is the way wrong thing to say and you find yourself without a girlfriend and have to use the gunbroker pictures for this site. Please don't ask me how I know...she was very pretty and very gone.

You weren't married to her so feed her a fish head and send her on her way with a parting thought: "don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you ;) There will be another bus along soon.

Anyone who has been around Gun Forums long enough might know the name Dr. Ken Lunde. He has produced some of the finest photos of firearms on the internet. Below you find the link to some of these photos and how to get the best results in taking photos of your firearms.

A good freind of mine had a nice line. "Get the he.. out, Don't take nuthin, don't leave nuthin".
Ever notice how they always tend to "forget" an earing or the like?
