It's a 1918 production Colt SN 303769, reworked at Augusta Arsenal, and stamped as such. It has a new barrel and plastic grips, but the rest of it looks to be correct for the year. Appears unfired since the rework. I also have all of the DCM and Army paperwork and the Railway Express receipt from when the Army sold it through the DCM for $17.00.

Pete,

Very nice Arsenal ..... it does appear to be all 1918, of course the new barrel will probably be a 'HS' and the grips Keyes Fibre.

Nice find, especially with the DCM paperwork. Just think.... today you can buy a box of shells for that same $17.- ....!!

Barrel is SP (letters vertical), RH grip is Keyes, but LH grip I have no reference on. Marked:

N
LOC
R 3

Ribs are similar. Large borders around screw holes.

Marking letters are arranged in a cross, this reply format changes my typing.

It's Springfield Armory barrel, not positive on the stock panel, but I believe it is a Keyes. Someone who knows for certain will be along shortly. ;)

The grip is a post WWII replacement. The NOR LOC forms a cross with the O being common. Keyes did make post WWII replacement grips which have a 7 digit part number on each grip in addition to the K in a star.
