New 1991 commander

I just got a 1991 commander. Serial number is CJ23853 . Would any of you gentlemen know the year this pistol was made? This gun also has a government hammer. Was that standard on any of the combat commander. Looks nice with that hammer. Thank You

You can call Colt up, and on the phone they will tell you the year it was born on.
As far as the hammer, mine came with the standard "loop" style hammer. That is, the big loop, not the small loop like the earlier '70's pistols (that is in years, not Series).
