View Full Version : New GCNM Ultimate Stainless
Well, Hunter corrupted me. I saw his GCNM in Ultimate Stainless and had to have one. I just got mine today - new in the box. Serial # SN056XXE puts it in 1993, according to the nice ladies at Colt and a little later than Hunter's 1991 model, which I like better but this one will do.
It came with the stock wrap-around Colt medallion "Radical" rubber grips by R.J. Renner, but I couldn't resist putting on a set of DD rosewood grips from Doug Driscoll for these pics. I need some hex screws, but I'm out at the moment. Sorry for the old T-shirt backgrounds, but I just got it home and didn't want Gunny to get me!
Haven't decided if I'll fire it or not, but one thing's for sure - it's a real fingerprint magnet :D

Thanks.....it's all Hunter's fault ;)
I just happened to see this one about an hour after it hit GunsAmerica one evening last week. Thought about it for 1/10th second, then fired off an e-mail and left a phone message for the dealer. Got an e-mail back a couple of hours later that said there were already four requests for the gun, but mine was the first - if I wanted it to call him first thing the next morning, otherwise he would go to the next guy. I started calling 30 minutes before he opened.

Well Phil looks like you got a nice one there. I am sorry to be the bad influence here but I must say that is one beautiful Colt! I also know about the wounded checkbook. I took a few pictures of mine but they did not come out good at all. What is your secret?
Hey Phil, I can see a partial fingerprint on it. Shame on you!
LoRL, very nice Colt. Hunter you have a bad influense on people.

Does that shoot as good as it looks? I have a guy I work with that likes Sigs. I showed him my 1911 and he is thinking about them because they are such sweet pistols, if he sees your Gold Cup, I'm sure he will lose his mind. I will make sure he sees those pictures.
John, you are born and raised in Greece, I assume, how did you get so fluent in writing English? You have a very good handle on the language. A person that speaks 3 languages is called trilingual. A person that speaks 2 languages is called bilingual. What do you call a person that speaks only 1 language? An American.

That is really a beautiful piece ! I wish I had that kind of luck in finding a gun like that. I would be real torn between keeping it in a safe and taking it out and shooting the shiite out of it. :lm:

I used an old professional photographer's trick: "Just take a ton of pictures - something's bound to turn out."
I took over 50 shots as soon as I got it home - and deleted all the ones that came out really awful :D
There's also a macro mode on my Sony DSC-85 for the close-ups, like the sights on my GCT:

I've only had it since 4:00pm yesterday and haven't decided if I'll ever fire it or not.
It DOES make Glocks and Sigs look they're Lyin' in the Shade :D

Thanks, all. Yeah, it made me drool too, but I feel like I need white cotton gloves just to pick it up. I've got to get over THAT feeing if I'm ever going to shoot it :D

Phil, I have to tell you that is realllllllly nice. A Gold Cup is definitely on my WANT LIST. Don't know why, just want one. :D
but I feel like I need white cotton gloves just to pick it up.
Exactly, that is the reason I sold my first Ultimate Finish'd Government Model, regretted that move for a loong time. :(
Until recently, when I picked-up another one for a good price. :D

Why, that's mine right there.
You saved that picture? I'll have to take another one, that had been modified (the tops of the slides were not polished on the originals), that has been rectified. :D

Yep, I saved it - that's my new mission, to find a GM just as nice. Your photo helps me keep my focus on the target :D

Well, that is truly one beautiful Gold Cup! And, yes, Hunter is a very good "bad" influence...but, then, I think all of you are in the same category...every time I see one of your pictures or read your posts you make me want one just like it! Congratulations!

We are some lucky guys...
Thanks for the kind words...Yes, we certainly are. Especially yesterday on the 4th, I was thinking the same thing as I participated in our local parade and again later on as we had our next door neighbors over for dinner and to watch the fireworks. The glass is definitely more than half-full in our great country.
We're lucky to be able to enjoy a sport such as ours, courtesy of so many who have gone before, and continuously secured by many who post on these forums and by those serving even as as we type.

As far as I'm concerned, the cup is overflowing with joy in the US. I for one wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
