Anybody have pics and/or articles about the Springfield Mil-spec Larry did up and was featured in a magazine (forgot which one)? Would like to review his earlier work.
Thanks,
Al
What exactly is Vicker's "Original" Custom Springer?
The last review of a pistol he personally built was in American Handgunner, 2004, I think.
They compared his pistol to one Richard Heinie, built for the article.

Click the link that says articles. All are available as .pdf download. Good reading there.
Thanks Garrett,
I thought he was referencing one of Vicker's early pistols.

....carefully, you would have seen that I WAS referring to an earlier Vicker's pistol...an early Springfield Armory Mil-spec pistol customized by him in 2001...did I not mention SA in my original post?
Yes I read your post, the 2001 article was not a review of his "Original" Mil-Spec. There was a write-up on one he built on the older metric frame, if you would have read my post carefully, I was asking about your use of "Original."

....what "Larry did up"...implying that he customized a SA, NOT a review of an earlier Mil-spec pistol...are we parsing words here friend? I get the feeling that there may be an issue you have with me, that I may not be aware of...if so, let it out, and we can carry on like gentlemen...and while I am at it, I am not aware of any other Springfield Armory Mil-spec "done" by Larry that has appeared in any magazine, other than the "original" review.
No parsing of words here friend. You copped the attitude with me, If you read my post carefully...
My apologies if you weren't aware this was not his "Original" custom built SA Mil-Spec that had an article written about it. I was using the definition of original as preceding all others in time; first.
If you have a problem with me, please, let me know also.

....I'm not going to feed into a potential Pi##ing contest here...if there is an earlier review of a pistol Larry Vickers customized pistol that happened to use a SA Mil-spec frame, than I would appreciate a link...otherwise, please lighten' up...you seem to take offense to whatever it is that I post, and it is just not this post or thread that you have alluded to a "discomfort", if you will, with some of my observations or thoughts...I don't have a problem with ANYONE on this forum, but I suspect my "newbee" status may inspire a less than objective response from you....just cut to the chase, and show me an earlier review of his work that I am not aware of. If you can do that, than I will be gratefull...I just don't do well with folks whose sole mission in life is to find fault with any and everything.
and it is just not this post or thread that you have alluded to a "discomfort",
Really, now that's is something I am not aware of?
I believe it was me that told you where you could find parts, if I had any problem with you, why would I bother?
I have no idea if the earlier review-write up is even on the Internet, Mr. Vickers has been doing pistols sometime before 2001.
but I suspect my "newbee" status may inspire a less than objective response from you....
No, that's not the case.
I just don't do well with folks whose sole mission in life is to find fault with any and everything.....
Now come on, I can't keep up if you continue to re-edit your posts.
Maybe you should take your concerns to the PM option, I have no intent to disgrace John's board.

....I am going to chalk it up to my paranoia....my bad....now, my intent was to find the review of the SA Mil-spec that Vickers had done, and garrettwc was kind enough to lead me to exactly the review I was seeking; if there is another SA Mil-spec that Vickers has worked on, reviewed by a major magazine, than I would like to read that review as well. I will apologize if I am a bit cautious or "thin skinned", but that is one of many faults I have...I am not perfect, nor do I portend to be, but I do thrive on making progress...so let's just be friends...let's just say I may be having a bad day. ;)
That sounds like a plan to me. http://forum.m1911.org/images/icons/icon14.gif

Dustoff, I only know one way to get 'em to taste like that. And last time I did it I was hung over for three days. :p
