Having some custom work done, decision point. Do I go with serrated front strap and MSH or should I opt for more $$$ and get checkering? Money not really an issue but wanted to see other folks think. Know it is all "preference" but am I missing somthing else?
Did a search and found no information. :butthead:
Will post photos of completed pistolla when finished.
Thanks.

Neither....depending on what pisol you have, I would take the money wasted on un-necessary grip strap enhancements and replace all internals with barstock components, buy a S&A checkered MSH, replace MIM/cast safety parts such as thumb safety, and slide safety, and invest in a solid SS barrel bushing...I think that should do it, and you'll probably have some dough left over for a couple of CMC or Wilson 8 round mags.

Checkered. Both MSH and front strap.

Dustoff, I read his post to mean that this was one step in an overall package he was having done. FWIW, I agree with you though. Reliability first.
Now assuming he has that squared away, it would depend on the use for the gun.
Serrations can be nicer looking, especially some of the ones with the arrowhead ends on them. However, if this is going to be a duty/defense gun then I would go with checkering along the lines of 25lpi.
P.S. like the experience sig line Dustoff. ;)

Thanks all for your input. Thanks DustOff. I did have "all of the above" (plus) done.
Decided to go with checkering both fore and aft.

Thank you...I'm just an old fashioned fool....but I have to admit that there are some "cosmetic" touches that I do like, but I won't admit to what they are.
I would never do front strap nor sharp stippling again on a weapon that I planned to shoot a lot in one session.
