Eastern Virginia/North Carolina gunsmith recommendations?

I still haven't had any luck finding a good 1911 smith locally, so I thought maybe I should expand my horizons some. Does anyone know a good smith in eastern Virginia, maybe Richmond/Williamsburg, or in eastern North Carolina, northern Outer Banks area? I know there is a guy in Raleigh area, but that's about a 3 hour drive for me. Thanks for the help.

Tom Beliveau in Wendell N.C. he is an excellent gunsmith and would be worth the drive if it were me.

No firsthand expereince, but you might try contacting the guys at Blackwater and see what they have to say. Someone there has got to have an answer for you.

Hey there is a guy in Newport news called the " Dare Gun Room" here in the Tidewater area who i hear is a first rate smith. I really do not know if he is or not but that is the word . I might use him some day. Floyd

Try A&P Arms in Virginia Beach...they have a 'smith who cut his teeth on 1911's in the Army...

Any luck finding a 1911 smith in SE Virginia?

If so, I'd be very grateful to know who/where it was, what you had done, and how it turned out.

I'm in the same area and may need some basic trigger work done.
