Well, there is a story to this one. I bought two Combat Commanders last year; this series 80 stainless and a series 70 satin nickel. I sold this one to a friend because I liked the trigger on the other one better. That was a bad move as nickeled one had been hogged out on the frame in an amature attempt to polish the feed ramp and would jam regularly. Luckily I sold this one to a friend and he is getting a lightwt now and asked if I wanted it back. Absolutely! This gun has night sights and a bar-sto barrel and is a real shooter. It definately needs a trigger job and I'll put a Wilson drop in beavertail, maybe some grips but probably little else. I know, I know; you should never sell a Colt in the first place! I have learned my lesson! 44 Man

Congrats on re-acquiring the old friend. Always nice to see a familiar face (shape), right? Now, I am sorry but this is an unsuccessful attempt to avoid the sergeant, because this can hardly be called a picture of your gun. I can barely see if it is a 1911 or not!
I am sure you are proud enough for this gun to properly show it to us, and to make me loose another keyboard because of my drooling.

John, I don't understand why the picture is like it is. It's 763 x 528 pixels and comes up about 5"x8" on my computer but not on the forum. This picture was from when I owned the gun the first time. I'll make the grip changes and try to get the Wilson beavertail and pachmayer mainspring housing, tactical mag release, maybe a trigger swap and get some new pictures.
Yes, it IS good to have an old friend back. How many times have I wished I had back a gun that I decided I was not shooting enough and sold to try something else. Older but wiser now. This one will stay. 44 Man

I think I know why it happens. Go to your photobucket account. When it opens, find the picture you want. Right below it there should be three lines, the last one is called IMG. Copy the contents of that line and then just paste them in your thread. Most probably you have copied the location of the thumbnail picture, instead of the link in the IMG line.
