Hi, new to the Colt thread, but i came across a nice, blued, series 80 Colt which was hardly shot and was priced at 640. is this a good price? only thing wrong with the piece was the trigger re-set; it was really weak - like someting was rubbing against the trigger/bar (magazine status didn't change a thing). i'm a 1911 guy, and am willing to try multiple brands, especially blued guns from Colt. it's on a hold right now, but wanted your opinion. Thanks...

If there isn't anything seriously wrong with the pistol, it's not a bad price.

I would say go for it. We can easily help you out with the trigger return.

I agree with John and OD. The price sounds good. I have owned a few of series 80 weapons and still own at least a couple. They have never disappointed me. I still prefer the series 70 but, that is a price that would be tempting.

It does sound like a great price and as far as the trigger reset it could be a simple as a weak sear spring and/or dirty.

As the others have said, "Go for it." It certainly won't be any cheaper next year.

I say snag it. I paid $700 for mine and it was gently used. Some people say that Colt's are overpriced, but I say you get what you pay for. :D

You can't pay too much for a Colt, you can just pay to soon. ;)
