found a nighthawk dealer, pretty new in the local area, and he had few models available. i had been drooling over the grp recon for a while, and i just got it a few days ago. it's an amazing pistol.
but, here is the kicker - all of my grip screws sheered off the first time i reassembled the piece - YIKES!!!!. got the grips back on the gun using spare Wilson screws (kkkkkkkkk) and called nighthawk. had a good laugh about the situation, and new screws are on the way :) any how, very very nice piece.

Congrats on the gun!
Just out of curiosity, which grips did you have on your Recon? And did the screws pop from over tightening? Or something else?

it's got the vz grips. one of the screws sheered off before i could even get to the tightening phase. i was quite baffled and went slowly with the remaining three screw to see if they would fail as well, and they did - the screws sheered off at the first tightening turn. i felt them letting go the whole way. i know i did not over tightened them, becasue i had no trouble removing the remants from the grip bushings - came out with finger twists. go figure, but it's alright, i had some spares, and replacements are coming :)
