Here are the pictures of my two 1911A1 's a 1944 Remington and 1943 Ithaca. They seem to have all original parts including the magazines. The only part that was replaced is the slide lock on the Remington. It had a early colt blued slide lock. The Remington has a General shaver magazine and the Ithaca has a Little magazine. Think I did pretty good for $900 for both of them.

I would say you did pretty fair with those two no doubt about it. Very nice!

(if you mean you paid $900 total for the two of them)You made a geat deal,if all of the R/R is original and correct except for the slide lock, then it probably was/is worth the $900 by it's self from the way they are selling now.

Both pistols would easily sell for $1K or more each. Great find! Nice pistols!

They both look to be in terrific shape: better cosmetically than my 1945 era Ithaca, which shows a bit of wear to the Parkerized finish. Congrats. Have you fired them yet, if you plan to do so? They can be pretty accurate once you get around that monster trigger pull.
Drool shields up!
Nice! Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, guys. I did not fire them yet, proberly in the near future. The guy I bought them from still has one more 1911 Colt year 1918 it was his grandfathers, it is in pretty bad shape. Front site was filed down the US property almost worn off. I offered him $100 for it and he agreed. I proberly will sell it for parts. The serial number is in the high 200,000.

John, can be ban someone for gross displays of classic 1911's without regard for our other members? LOL

The front sight would not be hard to have replaced, and certainly worth doind for the price he's asking.
