View Full Version : Cmder Slide Officer frame Baer & Nighthawk?
From a cursory review of the leading semi-custom 1911 manufacturers, there seem to be three models available with a commander size slide and an officer size frame. They would be: Les Baer Stinger, Nighthawk Talon III, and the Nighthawk Predator III. I'm sure that I must have missed other models in my quick search. Is anyone aware of others available? Does anyone have a 1911 that fits this description? If so, how is it for feel, balance, CCW, overall handling, etc.? I have a Kimber Ultra Carry, and a Colt Commander, hence the curiosity of what the cross-breeding would produce. The stocking dealers in my neck of the woods do not carry either Baer or Nighthawk, so that chances of my being able to handle, let alone shoot one are nil and none. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

Mike,
It's my understanding that Colt has a Gunsite Concealed Carry Officer's Model set up as you describe. It's probably a Custom Shop pistol, so you might have to call Colt and ask them about it. The article I saw listed the M.S.R.P. at $1,250.
Thanks Steve. I have been looking around at the local toy stores, and they act as if I have been asking for the last Faberge egg from Czar Nicholas. I may have to go up to the big city, Portland, and check a few shops there to check one out.
