I am assuming that a number of you are using Wilson mags in your Baers. If youre not one of those, please ignore.
Ive noted a few people reporting FTF problems when using 8rd Wilson mags in their Baers and none with the 7rd versions. Any of you had or having similar issues? Does this magically resolve over time, or is there a specific fix?
Thanks in advance.
When my Concept VII was new it had several failures using Wilson 8 round mags, maybe one out of every 50-100-150 rounds. The more rounds I shot the less frequent the malfunctions. I ordered a bunch of 7 round mags at about round count 1500 and she has shot fine.
I think part of it was being new and very tightly fitted, I was using mostly cheap ball ammo, and I stripped it down before I fired it, Bears are supposed to be shot 500 rounds for the pistol to wear and break in before field stripping.
The last 2000 or so rounds have been trouble free, and I have used the 8 round mags lately and all is well. Some pistols are finnicky about magazines, I have used 4 different mags in my TRS with no problems.

I use Wilson 8 round mags in a SRP Comanche, Premier II & Custom Carry.
Flawless functioning and the Wilson mags work in every other 1911 that I have and have tried them in.
I have run these with springs that were way past the point of replacement w/o problems. I have had the same 12 mags for about 8 years.
I don't know if it matters but I only load 7 rounds. I find that loading to 8 rounds make the mag very hard to insert with the slide forward.
A friend has had similar results with his LBC guns. Rock Rivers, and Springfields.
Wilson's all the way, the only mag I use, will use or recommend. I sound like an ad.

I have over 1300 rounds through my TRS and have used the Wilson mags almost exclusively and have not one single failure of any kind with my TRS. It has been very impressive.
