View Full Version : Warning: Maybe habit forming
To all that make this sight unique, I would say thanks.
I must admit to several operator errors during my first postings.
The size of this forum and the M1911.ORG are daunting to newcomers and often the often repeated answers for continuosly repeated questions surely must tax the efforts of all the moderators. But beyond this all are helpful and seem well meaning. Someday this will be the compilation of most of the knowledge of 1911s. That is a worthy undertaking and should be supported by the members (with money). I have made a small donation and can only wish that others will do the same.
The entire forum is an addicting habit, but you always leave feeling a part of something that teaches you a new bit of knowledge or skill.

P.S. Use for only 3-4 hours daily or your wife will suspect you have a new girlfriend.http://forum.m1911.org/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=6#
Imagine what my wife thinks!!!!
She must be an angel and related to my wife. My wife's nickname is the DETECTIVE (bestowed upon her by our kids).

I enjoy this forum right much myself. I have learned quite allot about more than the 1911 here and have made several friends along the way from all over . The moderators are all excellent (you the man Tom!). I tend to spend too much time here and way too much money on guns but so far no wife so I better get all this out of the way before I wind up married, all though my cat has become a little ill with me from time to time and I can tell when he has decided I have spent too much time with yall and not enough time with him (he likes to bite and will attack me then the computer!). Thanks again John.

I to have learned a lot about the 1911. I have been shooting and been around guns since I was 6 years old. I have always wanted a 1911. Got my first one in Jan. 06. I now have 2. They are great pistols. I am getting addicted also. Thanks to John and the other intelligent members for this super forum.Keep up the good work.

I'm new to this forum (5 posts to date) and find it to be one of the very best 1911 forums - especially in technical content and congeniality. At age 74, I'm probably one of the oldest members; I joined to share my experience, and to learn. You'll see an occasional post from me for the next 40-50 years.
;)
Regards to all,
Rich
Rich, we are happy to have you in our company. I am sure we'll be seeing you for much longer than 40-50 years, my only problem is that I am not sure I 'll be around to read your posts by then. Those twins are killing me with each passing day. And as if this is not enough, I have to live with the stupid Greek gun laws too. How much more can a man handle? :D

Rich glad you could stop by. I hope to learn right much from you over the next 50 years. John I think I might see some sort of bright side to you limit on firearms by the Greek law. I have found another Colt this time a Series 80 Commander and I want it bad. See if there was a law stopping this I would have WAY more money (but not nearly as much fun). Trying to help.
You are failing miserably my dear friend, I am sorry to say!

I figured that would not help but I was trying. Not trying to get political but will that law ever change? Here in the U.S. we had that assault weapon/high capacity magazine law in place for many years and when it was shown that it helped none and we got some different politicians in office it expired. Any chance of something like that happening in Greece?

Addictive - that's an understatement. My wife has almost stopped rolling her eyes as the computer is my first stop when we get in the house... you never know, one day Scooter is going to say something funny, Hunter may regail us with a useful story, Tom may comment, John may take a poke at Tom, and MrsKey may support John and take a poke at Tom again :)
This is starting to sound like a soap opera. Quick somebody say something manly... (oh, oh, I sense that MrsKey and Lynn are loging on... gotta go)
I love this place.

Man before I joined this site I hardy used my computer. Now I look foreword to checking in with you all when I get to the house. A few cold beers, old country music playing in the other room, and m1911.org is good entertainment for me.

All you need is a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood western playing nearby and you'd be SET!

We've been hearing about this change for the last two years. Last January, it seems we were very close, all that remained was the signatures of the two ministers who are responsible for these issues to be in effect. Then, the Prime Minister changed those two ministers, during a government reformation, and we are back in square one again. Who knows Hunter, all shooters in Greece are keeping their fingers crossed, but even that doesn't seem to help much.
