i have a 2002 or newer sprinfield mil-spec and one of the grip screw bushings is striped. Im kinda at a loss on this one so any input would be great.

Do as I did and take a pair of channel locks and grip them and start turning. Be sure not to scratch the gun, though if you did its under the grips. Good luck man, call SA they send out new pairs for free. Mine required some lock tite and consequently became stuck with the screws in the grips. I had to damage the bushings to get the 2 apart and inorder to free my grips. I called them and they send new pairs no charge.

You don't say if the inside of the bushing where the screw goes in, or the frame is stripped (versus striped). If the screw is stripped, then you can easily get new bushings. If the frame part is stripped, you will have to get "oversize" bushings. Brownell's has them. You will have to re-tap the frame to accept the oversize bushings.
Either way, be careful and have patience.
