I put 100 rounds thru it without any feeding problems. The first 50 were Rem/UMC and the second 50 were Magtech. With the Magtech the slide didn't always stay open after the last shot. Is that an ammo problem or something else?
Also, I now know what hammer-bite is. My bleeding hand is telling me that I need a different beaver tail grip. Any suggestions?

Could be the ammo, if it is a little on the weak side, the slide may not come back far enough for the slide stop to engage the slide. If the ammo is too hot, the magazine spring does not have enough time to get the follower up before the slide is already well on its way to returning to battery. If the Magtech brass is not ejecting as far as the Remington UMC and the recoil feels a bit softer, then the ammo is loaded too light for the recoil spring. If the brass ejects further and the recoil feels heavier, then the ammo is too powerful for the recoil spring and possibly the magazine spring.
