Hi,
Could some please help me approximate the value on the following pistol?
The markings are:

United States Property M1911A1 US Army
NO 1985476
On slide it says:
Remginton Rand inc.
Syracuse NY USA

There's an "FJA" under the slide safety

A "P" in front of the grip panel on the left side of the gun

A "Y" and a "1" on the trigger guard

A "P" on top of the slide

Other than normal wear, a few nicks, scratches and rubbing wear, the gun seems to be in fair to good condition. I have disassembled it down to the trigger mechanism and everything looks ok.

I am looking for just a range or ballpark estimate.

Thanks

It is a 1944 production R-R. The price would depend on the condition (fair to good - 80 - 85%)? Is the finish original and correct? Are the grips, barrel, etc. correct for the production range? Can you provide any pictures, and more details of the markings on the barrel, grips, etc. thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The barrel markings show HS on one side and P on the other. The grips seem original with a circle K on both sides with the numbers 15 on the left and 21 on the right(inside). The finish is steel with very little blueing. The condition is probably 80-85%. The gun looks like it has seen a few wars.

I took a digital picture but can't figure out yet how to attach it.

I'll keep trying.

Thanks so much for your help.

Read the FAQ section of this site, to learn how to attach pictures. The link is near the top.

Without seeing any pictures, and based on the info you provided, a pistol like that would typically sell in the $500 - $800 range so lond as everything checked out as original/correct for the production era.

Thanks so much for the value range. Also, Are the markings that I gave you correct for the production year and model?

I will also try and send a photo.
