hey guys. I just purchased a stainless 1911 series 80 govt 5 inch. It is all stock except for an adjustable sight. The problem is that when I have the slide pulled back and the trigger held down and I move the slide back to the closed position and the release the trigger it drags and releses slowly. Is the normal??? Any way to fix it? The gun is cleaned and lubed so it is not dirt.

I know you said that it had been cleaned and oiled, but was it detail stripped when it was cleaned? i.e. Was it taken COMPLETELY apart or just field stripped?
It could be that the sear legs are dragging on top of the disconnector paddle due to a clearance problem, burr, weak sear spring, or crud buildup in the disconnector hole, trigger too tight in the trigger channel, etc.
There are several things that it could be so a detailed inspection is probably in order.

Its probably because you are easing up on the grip safety enough to allow the lug to rub on top of the trigger bow.
Do the same action again, and this time make sure the grip safety is fully pushed in.

well I did a full detail strip, and the gun was fairly gunked up. I cleaned everything and lubed it and problem solved. trigger now snaps back into position like it should.
Thanks
