.38 super STI, firing problem

I have an STI .38 super comp. It will fire several rounds and then not hit the primer hard enough to ingnite. What should I do to start correcting this problem? Thanks Rick

have you taken the firing pin out of the slide to see if it is overly dirty? you may want to check the firing pin spring and the pin hole for gunk, also check the point of the firing pin itself to see if it has been deformed some how. if none of these are the problem you may want to look at your main spring, if its old it may need to be replaced.
