with factory parts I had 6lb 1.7 ounce... with the following changed : WC Skeletonized Ultralight hammer, WC A2 Sear , WC Beavertail , Cylinder and slide "lighter pull" Sear Spring , factory disconnector , Caspian Trik Trigger and I get a consistant 2.25-2.27 pull. all springs: recoil, mainspring, firing pin were changed to wolffs' in mil-factory spec rates. 16,23 etc.etc.

I would usually not use such a light pull on anything but target guns but havn't encountered a problem yet as an all around carry/target.

so now If I can just get my uncle to sell that Mark IV..... but he claims he has it willed to be burried with him...

Hairy! I won't like a pistol with such a trigger pull on my belt.

Sounds like the hammer and sear got over fitted........meaning there aint much contact with the two. At least go back to a stock Colt sear spring, you can get good trigger pulls from them..........down to 4 1/2lbs, if needed.

I guess we can presume that the key word here is "yet". That is a very light trigger for a carry gun.

How do you manage to get such precise trigger pull readings?

RCBS Digital trigger pull scale. 10/22s range 15 1/2 ounce , 2.25 , 3.4 , 2.4.. so I have a 1911 with a trigger pull like one of my 10/22's... I seriously wouldn't consider hip carry with this 2.25 cocked and locked...thatis if I plan on reproducing one day and would like to keep all my bodily and weapon equipment intact.

Have you stuck the overlength sear and hammer pins in to check the hammer/sear engagement? I would think Wichaka is right. Something isn't making good contact. A trigger pull that light with just part swapping would make me real nervous.

It will follow, probably sooner than later.

Make sure your license for automatic weapons is current.

I agree....and draw the line at 3.5 lbs. with any gun I own or carry......

ORdered a replacement sear spring. since it seems thats te only problem I'm having this cylinder nd slight "light pull" the middle prong which puts forward tension on the trigger and disconnector seemms REALLY light compared to factory. maybe a Wolff or Ed brown will fix this right up. but seriiously that middle prong is so limp and THIN that it's scary

ugh guess I can cancel that midway order. found a new/unopened ED Brown sear spring in a box of extras my uncle threw in when I bought the gun I now get 3lb 8.7ounce pull which seems just light and just stiff enuff. or should I go higher?

things were so much simpler in the days of walther p99 and glock 19... 1911's r just cooler... they have that big beefy MADE IN AMERICA feel.
