My new Wilson is arriving any day and since it has a bobtail option I want to use a 8 round flush fitting mag when carrying it instead of my Wilson or CMC Power mags. I'm interested in anyone's experience with good, reliable flush fit mags. I was thinking the CMC match ones look high quality.

Wilson and the NEW Kimber KimPro Tac-Mag are superior to the CMC IMHO. I really like the new Tac-Mag!

Metalform mag bodies with Wilson 8 round conversion kits in them.

I did the same with CMC tubes.

I had good luck with the flat bottom MecGars, like I did with the ones with the removable floor plate.

Tuner must be taking the day off, so I'll jump in.
7rd GI mags from Metalform with flat dimpled followers if you want most reliable. The gun was designed to hold 7 rounds. When you try to stuff that extra round in there you really stretch the limits. Even more so if you want flush fitting.

Yes, The 7 round mag with the dimple follower (Metal form or other good quality) is the best.
I would use the 7 rounders.
Sorry Wichaka, you have great advise, I have to take Tuner's call on this one.

Tuner's working the crown again! :D
But I must admit........its hard to get an 8 round to seat in a 1911 when the slide is forward, without the assistance of a base pad. The only ones I know are Wilsons, even with the small pads...........

Excellent point wichaka!
The few 8 rounders I have, are regulated as reloads (carried in the mag pouch) for that very reason.
