Theres a small pin in the underside of the slide you have to push to remove the firing pin. Do you also have to push this in while removing the power extractor ? The diagram showes the power extractor as 4 parts but no details on how to remove it. Any help on this would be appreciated, I dont want to mess up my new toy.

Pin?

Are you referring to the firing pin safety plunger?

The firing pin safety plunger will need to be depressed to get the firing pin out.
Once the firing pin and spring are removed, you will have to move the extractor out of the slot to the rear a fraction to allow the plunger and small spring (be carful of the plunger spring, it wants to fly away and get lost) to be removed. Sometimes you will need smooth face needle nose to lightly grip it. Do not force it out, its rubbing on a small ridge on the extractor.
Once you remove the plunger and spring, you will need to push on the extractoe from the hook side to have the hook clear the face of the slide. Then try to rotate the extractor as you pull it out the back of the slide. It will have some friction due to the internal spring. You need to find the Para manual to show and tell the above operation. When you go to install, its the reverse of removal, still rotating the extractor as you install. Its using the smooth walls to allow you to insert with the spring tension.
Hope this helps. Again the manual should be more clear than i am.
Good luck.

Yes it does , thanks . I wanted to make sure of how to do it since it was so tight. I was worried about breaking something. I was able to remove it and put it back ok. Its a lot trickier than a regular 1911. ;) The manual that came with the gun doesnt show anything other than basic field stripping. Do you know where theres a more detailed diagram online? Im planning on getting a book on it at the next gun show.
