I purchased my new Colt XSE about a month ago in Blue, and after all that time of looking at it and holding it and treating it like a new baby and buying it some extra Magazines to feed it we (the Colt and I) finally got to go to the range Thursday. My shooting partner brought his S&W 1911 45 in stainless steel before we started to shoot we had everything laid out on the bench when this older gentleman came over and carded us just to make sure that we were members and not trespassing he noticed the Colt and we got talking about it, he was carrying a new Kimber that had the snake skin pattern grips after about an half hour of talking we started to shoot, we were going to shoot targets and frozen Gallon jugs filled with colored water, well the first thing that went wrong is I forgot the targets that was a minor set back so we just shot the jugs instead. I had my action lock open twice with around 6 rounds left in the magazine it was no problem I just hit the action release and continued shooting, the next thing to happen was I could no longer see the dot on the front site after making the weapon safe I discovered the set screw on the rear site was coming out it had backed itself out and was sticking up enough to fill the back site. I have no idea how tight the shot groups were the jugs kept moving around I ended up putting around 125 rounds of UMC 230gr through it what a blast I can’t wait till we go again. And I will remember the targets

Very nice Colt. I am sorry to hear about your initial troubles but I am sure the Colt will hold up her end once you get them worked out.
