Hello all,

Just wanted to introduce myself after lurking for a few days. This is a great site and appaers to be one of the best for 1911 style pistols.

I enjoyed shooting my 1911s. I have two, Colt M-1911A1 Commander and Norinco Goverment. I don't know much about my Norinco, except the mods I made. I paid $350 at a gun show.

Can anyone tell me if the ser. #4141XX tells me anything about the gun? Also, what is the barrel made of? It has a funny color to it, almost dull SS.

I installed a modified Wilson hammer, adjustable trigger and wrap-around Houge grip.

Great fourm,

Welcome to the Forum.

If you notice at the top of the forum I am conducting a research project on those Norincos that made it into the US.
There were three (and possibly 4) importers of the pistols: China Sports Inc, Safari (Sino) Sports Inc. - both out of Ontario, Ca. And both marketing arms of Norinco.
An importer out of Conn., I beleive.
and possibly one out of Texas.

The barrel is hard chromed inside and out. And will shoot better than one would hope for, at least those that I've seen and used have.
