Hey everybody ,
In the late 80's I bought a 1911A1( my first one ) pistol in a gunshop in Brussels.
After some time I realised the pistol was made in Argentina. As I could find out the serial # 102.117 indicated that it has been made in 1959 /Sistema.
The serial # is located on the frame , on the barrel and on top of the slide (between ejection port and rear sight ).No other marks are found on the gun.( no proof marks or Argentina crest..)
But...the slide was made by COLT ( it has the middle rampant Colt ).
Can anyone help me out with this ? Could it be an arsenal repaired pistol ?
Or was an orignal Colt slide put on a Sistema frame ?
The pistol is in excellent condition and has a black/blue finish.
Thanks for any information on my pistol. :)
